As an Electrical Specialist, you will be a vital part of the Centre of Expertise, providing essential technical support to the Boskalis Offshore Energy Division Fleet and Projects. Your expertise will ensure the availability and reliability of electrical, automation, and DP systems on our vessels, contributing to complex infrastructural and marine projects worldwide.

Your Impactful Responsibilities

  • Ensure availability and reliability of all electrical equipment, automation, and DP systems on vessels.
  • Advise fleet management and vessel teams on electrical equipment, automation, and DP systems.
  • Assist with day-to-day technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical support and guidance during dockings and repairs.
  • Develop fleet critical spares policy and product life cycle management.
  • Inspect vessels and allocated equipment and visit suppliers and vendors.
  • Coach and guide vessel and fleet teams on efficient and safe operation of equipment and systems.

Who Excels in This Role?

We are seeking an Electrical Specialist with a strong background in maritime electrical systems, ready to make a significant impact. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as an ETO on DP vessels or possess expertise in the design, installation, commissioning, and servicing of electrical and automation systems from a yard, OEM, or service company. You should be adept at troubleshooting, providing technical guidance, and contributing to system improvements. A commitment to QHSE procedures and excellent communication skills in English are essential for this role, as you will be inspecting vessels, interacting with suppliers, and coaching teams. Your ability to travel and stay onboard vessels for extended periods is also a key requirement.

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience (as ETO on DP vessels, or with design, installation, commissioning and servicing).
  • Preferably a degree in a relevant subject.
  • Experience with vessel power generation and distribution, PLC/SCADA-based automation, and DP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership and commitment to QHSE procedures.
  • Good command of written and spoken English, capable of writing technical reports.
  • Available to travel to vessels and stay onboard for longer periods as required.
