Explore the feasibility of running Flutter on embedded Linux platforms with hardware acceleration at Lely. Tackle challenges at the intersection of embedded systems, graphics pipelines, and modern UI frameworks.
Your Internship Responsibilities
- Set up and configure embedded Linux environments for i.MX6 and i.MX8 platforms
- Integrate and evaluate different graphics stacks such as Framebuffer, Xorg, Wayland, or Android
- Build custom Debian-based Linux images with Flutter runtime support
- Enable and configure open-source GPU drivers and hardware acceleration
- Investigate Flutter engine compatibility with embedded Linux environments
- Deploy and validate a minimal Flutter application, benchmarking performance, and identifying optimization opportunities

Who We Are Looking For
We seek an inquisitive and technically driven student who enjoys working close to the hardware while exploring modern software frameworks. You should be motivated by complex engineering challenges and eager to deepen your knowledge of Linux internals and graphics systems. A structured and analytical mindset is essential.
- Relevant educational background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics
- Solid knowledge of Linux and experience with the Linux command line
- Basic understanding of embedded systems and ARM-based platforms
- Familiarity with graphics concepts such as Framebuffer, OpenGL/EGL, or GPU acceleration
- Interest in Flutter or modern UI frameworks
