As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will join Hydronamic, Boskalis' in-house design and engineering department, to make your mark on large-scale hydraulic and civil engineering projects. This role uniquely blends geotechnical expertise with a passion for digitalization, leading the transformation of digital workflows and developing innovative applications to optimize processes and data handling within the team.
Your Role in Digital Geotechnical Engineering
- Serve as the primary point of contact for digital solutions within the geotechnical engineering team.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, data management, and analysis.
- Translate complex engineering needs into clear blueprints for new digital tools.
- Develop, test, evaluate, and refine applications to ensure optimal usability and performance.
- Provide essential training and guidance to colleagues on new tools and digital systems.
- Actively cooperate with the in-house AI department on applying generative AI in geotechnical engineering.
- Maintain the business logic of internally developed numerical calculation kernels for settlements.

Who Will Excel in This Role?
We are seeking a talented and forward-thinking Geotechnical Engineer with a strong passion for digitalization and innovation. The ideal candidate will possess at least 3-5 years of relevant work experience and hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Applied Earth Science, with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering. Crucially, you should have in-depth knowledge of Python, as you will be pivotal in leading the digital transformation of our workflows. Your ability to communicate effectively in English, coupled with strong analytical thinking and eagerness to learn, will make you a valuable asset to our diverse team.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering / Applied Earth Science with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of Python programming.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new digital solutions.
- Strong analytical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication abilities in written and spoken English.
