As an Assistant Breeder, you will support the breeders of the cut gerbera crop group within our organization. You will be working in the greenhouses daily, where your green thumb will come in handy for various breeding support activities.
What you will do
- Assist breeders with various tasks in the greenhouses
- Perform physical work related to plant care and maintenance
- Collect data on plant growth and development
- Carry out fine tasks such as crossing and seed harvesting
- Supervise small groups of temporary workers during peak seasons
- Perform spraying duties
What We Offer
- Salary scale E of the Greenhouse Horticulture Collective Labor Agreement (€2,618.70 - €3,201.60 gross per month)
- 40-hour workweek
- Employment conditions in accordance with the Greenhouse Horticulture Collective Labor Agreement
- 25.5 vacation days (full-time basis) with the option to purchase 7 additional days
- One-year contract with the possibility of a permanent contract upon good performance
- Participation in the BPL pension fund for Greenhouse Horticulture
- Travel allowance

What We Ask of You
You are a practical MBO graduate ready for your second or third career step. You have 'green' fingers and enjoy hands-on work. You appreciate diversity in your tasks and can easily switch between different activities. You take initiative and see what needs to be done. You are independent in your work but also value teamwork.
- Completed MBO education in a 'green' field (biology, agriculture, horticulture)
- Preferably work experience in greenhouses, with breeding experience being a plus
- Practical skills and a hands-on mentality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Initiative and a proactive approach to work
- Flexibility and adaptability to diverse tasks
